The alpine pasture is reached only by foot. There are many possibilites to hike to Emaney, most of them without any special technical difficulty. Emaney is therefore an ideal destination that can fulfill the wishes of both families with children and moutainers looking for more challenging hikes.

From Emaney, the alpine lakes of Salanfe and Emosson are reached after crossing high-altitude passes (Barberine pass or Emaney pass). Emaney is also on the way of the Tour du Ruan and close to the path of the Tour des Dents-du-Midi.

Now you can already find, as printer-friendly PDF files, the description of three hikes passing through the alp.

You can find some suggestions and descriptions of hikes on the web site of Les Marécottes.

Around the Luisin

A great hike in diversified landscapes with a breath-taking panorama on the Dent du Midi and the Mont-Blanc from the Emaney pass, an incredibly rich fauna and flora... a hike without any technical difficulty; only a good phyisical condition is needed, since the way is pretty long.

The Luisin (summit)

What a great view from the top of the Luisin (2875 m)! And what a great hike to reach it! Require a good technic, this hike is so beautiful that it worths an early wake-up to be the first at the top :-)

Around the "Mont de la Barme"

Very nice hike with a small mountain lake and beautiful view from the Fénestral pass on the Trient glacier and the Mont-Blanc. If you are lucky, you can see ibex and chamois on the way to the pass. Be careful on the path from Blantsin to Fénestral, which is indicated in blue-white and can be more difficult by rainy weather.
